The Centers for Education and Research on Therapeutics (CERTs) program seeks to increase awareness of the benefits and risks of new, existing, or combined uses of therapeutics through education and research.

Mission & Vision

The CERTs program conducts research and provides education that will advance the optimal use of drugs, medical devices, and biological products. CERTs endeavors to be a trusted national resource for people seeking to improve health through the best use of medical therapies

To achieve this mission, CERTs activities:

  • Develop knowledge about therapies and how best to use them.
  • Manage risk by improving the ability to measure both beneficial and harmful effects of therapies as used in practice.
  • Improve practice by advancing strategies to ensure that therapies are used always and only when they should be.
  • Inform policymakers about the state of clinical science and effects of current and proposed policies.
